While Newzander supports legitimate payment disputes, chargeback abuse undermines marketplace integrity and harms honest sellers. Fraudulent chargebacks will result in account suspension and potential legal action.
A chargeback is a forced transaction reversal initiated through a buyer's bank or card issuer. While chargebacks are a legitimate consumer protection mechanism, they must not be used as an alternative to Newzander's dispute resolution process.
Buyers are required to use Newzander's internal dispute process before initiating a chargeback. Filing a chargeback without first attempting Platform dispute resolution constitutes a violation of these Terms and may result in account restrictions.

Where a chargeback is upheld by the issuing bank, the associated funds are returned to the buyer's payment method. If the seller has already received a payout, Newzander will attempt to recover the funds from the seller's account balance. If insufficient funds are available, the debt is recoverable through legal means.
Sellers with chargeback rates exceeding 1% of monthly transaction volume may be subject to reserve holds, payment restrictions, or account review.
Filing a chargeback for a legitimately delivered and received order ("friendly fraud") is a form of theft. Newzander actively investigates suspected chargeback fraud and reserves the right to:
